All odor control products give off VOCs (Volatile organic compounds) which is also given off by thousands of other household products. VOCs are chemicals that evaporate into potentially harmful gases at room temperature and may or may not have an odor. Typical household products that give off VOCs include:
• New carpeting
• Paints, paint thinners, and other solvents
• Cleaning supplies and disinfectants
• Aerosol sprays including those used for odor control
• Candles, incense and the aerosol air fresheners use for odor control
While odor control products are designed to be safe, people suffering from asthma or other breathing disorders should consult the manufacturer's warning labels.
