As a consumer, you should not be misled into thinking that the government is controlling the heath and safety of soaps, detergents and cleaning products sold in the United States. The government only requires manufacturers to list chemicals of "known concern" on their labels. In addition, no government standards have been set for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the household and/or the usage of the term "Green" in advertizements.
Many chemical can inhibit the overall health and safety of the user even when no danger or caution warning exists on the label and/or when advertized as being safe for househould use.
Consumers need to do their own research using the Internet to learn more about each ingredient listed on the packaging and/or MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets).
